Abstract:
The article studies the place and role of the competence approach to the preparation of history
teachers, corre-
sponding to modern international standards. Identifying the importance of this approach is based on
the anal- ysis of the working materials of Subject Area Group in History, developed within the
framework of the inter-
national educational project TuCAHEA — «Towards a Central Asian Higher Education Area: Tuning
Struc- tures and Building Quality Culture». During the consultations and analysis they worked out
the most im- portant general and subject specific competences, which should have a history teacher,
as well as determined
the connection with the learning outcomes.
