Abstract:
The article overviews the policy on religion regulation in China in the period from 1949 to the present day.
The author researched the understanding ways of the word “religion” in China, as well as the religious relations
regulatory framework. The author also defined the state institutions authorized to deal with religion,
provided statistical data, and briefly described problem-solving approaches of the Chinese leaders in different
periods (Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, and Xi Jinping).
